As the market has established, nothing is completely recession proof. In an emotionally driven civilization and a fairly unpredictable monetary condition, job safety has tended to mean not anything and cost reducing has prevailed past the route of the job marketplace. On the other hand, there are a quantity of careers that have nonetheless proven to be ?recession resistant?. Some are very lucrative, rewarding careers, and still some do not require four year degrees or time extensive training.

Health care is a very rewarding career, and job security is inevitable, especially with experience and tenure, simply due to the fact that illnesses and death are just parts of life, uninfluenced by economic status or stability. People do not stop getting sick if the economy is down. When you think of health care, you think of doctors and nurses, but unbeknownst to those not privy to the internal workings of the industry, it is a big field with never-ending opportunities if you have the endurance and patients, homonym anticipated. There are several jobs that one can have in the health care field, some of which do not require a doctorate or bachelor?s degree.

Physician assistants have the same functions as a doctor except for opening up their own practices or medicating patients, in some cases. They do not make as much as doctors or receive the possible notoriety, but they are well higher than middle salary. Nurse practitioners can make desirable salaries and even specialize or start up specialty practices. Often times, individuals visiting their all-purpose physician will really see a nurse practitioner in the place of work. Problem-solving cardiac sonographers are as well in style careers with a high demand rate due to the technological specialization. They collect reflected echoes and Doppler signals from images and tracings of a person?s heart, using ultrasound gear to measure the condition of the diverse functions and valves of the human being heart, very functional due to the elevated rate of cardiac illness in a fast food culture.

Physician assistants must go through a two-year training program, and at least two years of university and a certify exam, and the middle salary is $62.000 a year. A nurse practitioner does have to have a master?s degree in nursing and the middle pay is $74,000 per year. A cardiac sonographer merely needs a two-year associate?s degree, or in some cases, a 1-year official document in analytic sonography while a laboratory technician needs a bachelor?s degree with coursework in chemistry, biology, and statistics and state certification and licensing upon conclusion. Both of these supporting careers have a median salary of over $50,000 a year apiece.

Even though the fiscal services business has appreciably fallen over the past year, specially in the downturn, actuarial services, an ignored financial sector, is still thriving. Actuaries build up, price, and assess financial insurance items such as life, auto, health or homeowners insurance. The need is already up, and experts are in agreement that this sector of the fiscal field will grow exponentially previous to 2016.

Even among the downfall of the economic industry in the downturn, financial analysts and planners are nevertheless essential and common. Analysts assess the fiscal outlook of pieces and industries for organizations to invest in or measure. Personal financial planners and advisors help individuals with personal investments and finances. Financial analysts can work in a diversity of industries, although some might consider going the self-employment route as they can make three to five times what a salaried employee is making, more along a freelance line. An actuary needs a bachelor?s degree in mathematics, statistics, or finance and the related professional certification and makes a median salary of $86,000. A financial analyst normally needs a bachelor?s degree in finance and can make around $48,000. A financial planner needs a bachelor?s degree in money and to pass the documentation examination. He or she can make a median salary of $61,000.

Is it time to clean out your baby’s closet? Are you overloaded with 3-6 month sized clothing… and your child is 18-months old? Sure, you could take old baby items to a consignment shop or resale store, but why do that when you can have a yard sale and keep all the profits? Yard sales are a lot of work, but they’re easily worth it. Here are tips for selling baby stuff at a yard sale. Good luck!

- Don’t under-price. In fact, don’t overprice, either. For clothing, it’s best to create two piles for pricing—one for generic brands and one for brand-name clothing. Obviously, price the brand-name clothing higher than the generic stuff. Just don’t price everything the same.

- Know all those random little toys you have? Group them up and put them in little baggies with a price. Goodie bags of mixed toys will sell much more easily than separately priced rattles and cars. Do the same thing with socks and hats.

- A general rule is to price an item 10 percent of what you bought it for. If it’s brand new, price it 50 percent of what you originally paid.

- This should be a no-brainer: Don’t put out junk unless you’re giving it away for free. Nobody wants stained baby clothes or battered toys. And as for used pacifiers? Forget it!

- Advertise what you’re selling. Baby clothes sell pretty well at yard sales, so make sure you let everyone know that your sale is the place to buy baby goods. Let people know what kind of baby stuff you have: Do you have an abundance of newborn onesies? Or will you be selling baby carriers? Or are you up to your ears in toddler toys? Be specific and the right buyers will come.

Bad credit can hurt you in many ways. If you have endured hard financial times and ended up with bad credit, foreclosed on your property or been declined for a loan, the you know that having clean credit means having access to a better life. Now that you are seeking to improve your credit scores, this article should help you get started.

If you want to repair your credit yourself as opposed to letting a company do it for you, then you need to understand the basics of credit repair. This means reviewing the information contained in your credit reports and initiating the process by filling out the required forms and then submitting them to the top three credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian and Trans Union.

The big three credit bureaus use to charge a fee to consumers for these reports. Now, everyone can get a free copy of their credit report once a year since the FTC passed news laws giving consumer more protections rights. It all begins with this process.

You are entitled to get a copy of your report if you currently not employed and seeking employment during the next three months, have been denied for a loan for any reason or if your are receiving some form of public assistance from the government. Most credit companies will not tell you this for obvious reasons.

One of the first places to check for credit repair help is online. There are many websites that regularly publish information on how to get started repairing your credit. Just perform a search in your favorite search engine for “credit repair help”. In addition to finding some great tips on fixing your credit, you will see links to the best credit repair services in the United States.

You should consider looking at government websites such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The information is always accurate and reflects any changes that regulate the credit repair industry. They also have samples of the letters and forms you need as well as a thorough explanation of the process. You can use these letters to report inaccurate information contained in your credit report.

The Public Library is a great source of information. Just ask the Librarian for references to the credit industry and tell them what you want to know. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Libraries are also great sources for books and how-to guides written by experts relating to credit repair.

Most books written on the subject of credit repair will claim to be comprehensive. Remember, there are no single books that can contain all the information on this diverse and sometimes complex industry. The key is to find resource materials that closely match the particular circumstances in which you face and use that information as a guide only. Whatever you do, it is important to start the process of repairing your credit if the need requires it.

A good credit rating is essential to getting loans, buying a home, purchasing a car or just taking a family vacation. If you have bad credit, sooner or later you will have to face the fact that life can be better one your credit is repaired.

Having clean credit is also important to your career. Many employers are now screening applicants based on the information in their credit reports. Many high paying positions require a credit report investigation as a part of the employment background check for new hires. Get started repairing your credit today.

by Douglas Taylor

Not many of us are born with enough money to afford the luxuries of life. Once our struggle to succeed has eased, we tend to treat ourselves to the best of things that have an impact on our everyday lives. We outfit our houses with the best quality. We give ourselves things and avail services that once we thought of as extreme luxury. Since now we can afford them easily, they don’t seem like luxuries anymore. Life is good and you certainly are not thinking you need to cut back on expenses.

But what if this bad economy caused you to lose your job? What if you suddenly realized that if your income stopped you would not be able to cover your monthly bills. What if you had to cut back on expenses.

Putting things in order is very important if you need to cut back. Consider all of the items you own and the services you have. When you start thinking about this take a look at these 5 things.

Cable TV: Although just about everybody has cable TV these days but do you really need that DVR you are paying extra for? Is your cable package watched enough to justify its expense? Most likely the answer to that question will be no.

Downsize your cable package deal and go for one with lesser channels. If you’re only home in the evenings and/or on weekends, you could remove cable completely and use DVD’s and rentals. Got kids? Involve them in extracurricular activities so they don’t have as much time for TV. Get them DVD’s of their favorite shows.

The Internet: Unless you have a job that requires you to work at home this is an area you may be able to cut back on. If you are just checking email and surfing around do you have to have high speed Internet? By switching to something cheaper you can save some money each and every month.

Phone: Cell phone post paid packages can be notoriously expensive. Start using the landline more and only use your cell phone in emergencies or making calls that would be cheaper than calling from your landline. If you can’t find a lower rates package in your current service provider, then look into other services.

Gym Membership: Lots of people have a membership to a gym that they never use. But even if you go on a regular basis this is one luxury you can really do without altogether. There are plenty of free ways to get your exercise if you just take a little time to think about it. Take a walk in the park or buy some weights and exercise at home.

Car: Trust me; you do not need that SUV. Unless you’re living in an oil producing country, chances are gas is expensive. Rethink your choice of car when things get tough. Calculate how much you can save in gas expenses if you use a smaller car.

You may want to think about joining a carpool as this can really put money into your savings account. So if hard times come your way take a deep breath and relax. Do some deep soul searching and start the right way by cutting household expenses. It is not that hard once you get started.

Here is a test case…let’s say we have two people and we give the same amount of starting capital, strategy, platform, broker and the same market conditions, and compare their forex results after a specific time-frame. I can guarantee you that one will have made good profit while the other will have underperformed.

The above illustrates the statistical fact that over 70% of the budding forex traders out there never see their account flourish into a serious account balance. While the other 30% enjoy sizeable gains, a perpetual lifestyle and have all the time to do what they so wish. What is so special about the latter and what makes them so successful? Are they born with the Midas touch or is it luck of the draw for them?

The simple answer that separatesthe successful from the not so successful is: Habits. You see, successful forex traders took the time to learn and develop the right habits. The beginning was always hard but over time they have build up and eventually mastered the habits.

“So what are the habits of successful forex trading pros?” I hear you ask…

1. Positive Attitude

Let me explain, you can know all the tips|tricks, strategies, and insider information out there, but if you have secretly been negating yourself the opportunity to succeed with self-limiting then your chance at success will be much harder.

2. Application of knowledge

This one is a biggie, you may have heard of the old saying “Knowledge is power”… well i do not necessarily agree. I think it would be more appropriate to say “Knowledge applied is power”. Nothing beats real-life experience to help you learn from mistakes and fast track the road to success.

3. Passion

All the most super successful people I know have this in common: they are absolutely passionate about what they do and are always surrounded by a positive force of productivity. Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, Alexander Graham Bell and countless more have accounted their success to having a passion for what they did.

4. Having a System

It will take time to formulate all the strategies, charts, hours etc. to a style that fits with your style of living. This point is related with point number 2. You will need to apply all that you learn (take it one step at a time), and over time you will effortlessly fall into a healthy habit, ala system.

5. Controlling the Emotions

There are whole books written on the psychology of trading .Your emotions can be your biggest ally and also worst enemy in times of trading the forex market. That is why it is recommended to get used to the market via a demo account and once you are ready trade small and then increase the size of your capital as your winnings grow.

6. Never Stop Learning

Learning can be anything from 1 minute update on the finance news, to learning new strategies. Successful people make a habit of never stopping to learn new information. You should make it a goal to learn something new everyday… and slowly it all adds up at the end with great profits and a happier lifestyle

by Angie Meza

If you are looking for a simple and economical way to lower utility bills due to high energy costs, the solution is simpler than you think. Just make your home more energy efficient by blocking any drafts that you might be experiencing through your windows or doors. An inexpensive draft blocker will solve your problem.

As a home ages and settles, gaps can appear around windows and doors. Gaps can also be found as a result of improper installation. Either way, the result is a draft or flow of air that enters the home. Common areas for these problems include attic, basement and garage windows and doors, any doorway that leads to the exterior or any windowsill.

With the high cost of home heating oil, gas and electricity, consumers are actively seeking low cost ways to conserve energy in order to achieve lower utility bills. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the typical family of four spends an estimated $1,900 a year on home utility bills. However, a large amount of that energy is wasted because the home is not energy efficient.

One way to lower utility bills is to evaluate your windows. While they offer an attractive view, they can also be the culprit of wasted energy. In fact, poorly insulated windows can increase your utility bills by 10% to 25% because air from inside seeps in and air from your home goes out the small openings.

Improvements to doorways can significantly lower utility bills. Small openings where the bottom of the door meets the threshold can create a costly airflow between the air inside your home and the outside air. Exterior entry doors should be checked for gaps and draft blockers added to stop the airflow.

Have you noticed that your heating system seems to stay on all the time in the winter and that your air conditioning system seems to be working overtime in the summer? Your equipment is trying to keep pace with the fluctuation in temperatures caused by drafts coming in and going out around windows and doors. If you take action, you can see your energy costs reduced by up to 25% per year.

The draft blocker, also known as draft stopper or door snake, is a very effective product. It is made from a very strong material such as polypropylene and has an insulating fill. The standard item measures about 3″ x 42″ but is flexible enough to fit anywhere. Most custom sized doors or windows can be treated with no adhesives required and little maintenance. Your cost outlay can be small but savings can be substantial.

In an effort to reduce our dependency on foreign oil and gas, the U.S. government is encouraging people to make energy efficient measures to their homes. Besides reducing our need for energy resources, consumers will instantly realize lower utility bills.

You can save a significant amount of money when traveling by doing some research before you book your trip. Here are some tips to help you save money during your next weekend or week long getaway.

Ask Friends and Family Before you Book The best way to find out information about an area you plan to visit is to ask people who have been there already. They can let you know what they liked or disliked about the hotels, sites or other relevant information. Compile a list of questions and ask as many people as possible.

Research Transportation Options Most people would assume driving to your destination is the most economical way to travel and flying is the most expensive. However you should research your options before you make your final decision. For example you can find bus fares for as little as $1 from NY to Boston. Also if you are willing to fly as a courier you might be able to fly for free.

Travel Off Season The day and time of you year you travel will influence the price of transportation, hotels and restaurants. Sometimes if you are able to travel on a Wednesday instead of a Saturday you can reduce your expenses. Even if you travel during the expensive season rates, these rates can vary according to the time of day, day of the week (weekend vs. weekday) or month (May vs July). Ask travel agents, hotel staff, or airline representatives when the least expensive rates are available. You can also do an on-line search with different dates to compare prices.

Purchase Souvenirs and Other Items Before you Travel The more preparation and items you purchase before you travel, the more money you can save. Souvenirs and other items are expensive at tourist location. You can purchase souvenirs before you travel and you children will never know the difference. You can also purchase restaurant gift certificates and attraction fees prior to your travel to save money.

BYO Drinks and Snacks Even if you are traveling without children, when you bring your own snacks and drinks you will save both money and time. If you are driving, you will avoid the need to stop to purchase these items if you already have food and drinks in the car. Ideally bring food items which could be a snack or a meal such as cereal bars.

Ask Your Hotel About Amenities If you are staying at a hotel when you check in ask about the hotel amenities and if it is possible to get a free upgrade. Some hotels offer free Internet service, free movies, free childcare/children’s activities or free toiletries upon request. Also if you become sick ask if the hotel offers medical services or medicine before you purchase it.

Browse Local Guides and Newspapers Local newspapers will list events or activities (which may be free) available while you are visiting. Both guides and newspapers also contain coupons for restaurants, activities or site-seeing.

It is very hard for even people with a decent credit score to get a loan, much less anyone with a score below 650. It used to be easy, now its hard. Everyone can remove bad credit, it just takes a small amount of work.

The first thing everyone should be doing in this day and age is subscribing to some kind of credit monitoring service. All the 3 main credit bureaus all offer this service, as well as many third party providers. Just type in “credit monitoring” into Google and you will get a huge list, along with credit tricks. But be careful – there are tons of scam artists out there who are looking to steal your information. If you don’t go with one of the 3 credit companies (Experian, TransUnion, Equifax), make sure you know and trust the company you are going to give your information to. One additional source here is your credit card company. Most of them now will monitor for you for a yearly fee. The main reason for this is to find out in real time when changes are made on your credit report. It is far far easier to remove bad credit in real time than to find out 2 months or more down the line when a past due bill notice comes in the mail for an account you never opened.

Once this is done, they will send you a copy of your credit report. Check every line, make sure every bit of detail on that report is accurate. If you find something that does not look right, you can usually call the credit bureau and inquire for more information. If something is not right, make sure you also check with the other 2 major credit companies as well, order a copy of your report. Sometimes the error or (fraud) is uniform across all 3, sometimes not. Either way, this type of credit tricks has to be a first step in fixing your credit.

If you detect any irregularities that would indicate some type of fraud, you have to check all 3 and alert them. If you find there is a fraudulent account that has been opened in your name, often times you will also need to report this to the local police or FBI depending on what has occurred. The representative from the credit agency will be able to tell you if a report needs to be made. One side tip – if someone fraudulently opened an account at a department store or somewhere else that you do frequent but don’t have an account with – do not shop there using credit of any kind while the investigation is going on. If you must use cash. Its harder to prove it was not you if you are actually going there and spending money with another credit card while the investigation is going on – its not illegal or anything, but just a tip to keep it simple.

Assuming you have actually checked your report, fixed (or there are no) problems, now its time to boost the score. I will list a few here, there are of course many, many more.

A firs tip: If you are the type of person that does not like balances and pays off in full each month your card, you too are getting penalized (makes no sense, but it happens). If you charge up $1000.00 and pay $1000.00 each month essentially you have a balance of 0.00 (or 1000.00 depending on when you pay) – you are not getting credit for paying it all off. The best credit tricks to boost the score is to NOT pay it all off. Pay it over 3 months, or at least pay half and half. This demonstrates you can carry a balance for a few months, then pay it off. This does work and does boost your score, believe it or not.

The second big one that most people don’t know is to look on your credit card statement, find the billing cycle beginning and end date. This end date is important. Its the date that the credit card company reports your total outstanding balance to the credit agencies (aka credit reports). It is also the date they use to calculate the interest owed for the billing cycle. So – pay your credit card bill BEFORE this end date and you accomplish 2 things: 1 – the balance amount reported to the credit agencies is lower, and 2 – you will pay far lower interest over time because the interest will always be computed on a lower amount.

In essence, if you charge up 500 bucks on the first date of the cycle, then make sure you have paid it off by the cycle end date, you have “used” the credit card companies money for FREE!! Once you start doing this, its an easy way to float money for recurring stuff that has to be paid on someone else’s dime for 20 days or so. In addition, make sure you have a credit card that has bonus points for charges – this adds up over time. I know people that pay the rent on a credit card, then before the due date pay the bill and thus get a free 20 day ride or so where that money is still theirs to do something else with until its time to pay back the charge.

A third thing I will discuss here is that every recurring bill that anyone has (mortgage, HOA fees, car payment etc) should be put on auto-pay at your bank if possible. The main reason is anything that is a fixed amount and is paid the same date every month is simply easier to auto pay it – that way it is never ever late, and is never forgotten to be paid. In addition, you save stamps and checks, and have less to worry about. Let me tell you, once you get a house, car payment, kids and all the stuff that goes with it, its easy to have 15-20 bills each month of some kind that have to be paid – and its easy to forget one until its too late.

A fourth thing you can do to remove bad credit can make sure to do is to not ever have a larger than 50% of the outstanding credit available as a balance on a card. It seems counter-intuitive, but if they give you a $10,000.00 limit, and you use $7000.00 of it, even if you pay 2x the min payment, your credit score gets dinged. Meanwhile, your buddy, who has a credit limit of $2000.00 and a balance of $600.00 and only pays the minimum gets a bonus for NOT USING CREDIT. While its always good to pay more than the minimum balance due (usually 10% more is fine), if you are over the 50% barrier it will not matter as far as your credit score is concerned. The min payment (or excess payment beyond) is only used to calculate how much credit you might be able to handle.

Donating an old car to charity has many advantages to the community. The donor gets a valuable tax deduction on their itemized federal return. The charity gets some much needed money to help fund their programs. It all sounds simple. It is if you know how to do it correctly.

Here’s some advice to consider before just blindly handing over the title to your car. Find how much money the charity will receive. If you are dealing with a car donation center, ask them how much of the actual sale price the charity will receive. The term “net sale price” means the actual sale price minus auction fees, selling fees, or other fees charged by the center. In some cases, these fees may be more than the selling price of the car. If so, the charity may have to pay the donation center the difference. You won’t know unless you ask! Always make a copy of your title. Know who you are giving your car to. You should either mail your title to the charity or hand it directly to the person towing your car after they give you a receipt. Never, just leave the title in the car! If you do, you may not get a receipt and therefore, will have no proof of your donation. If you live in a state where you are required to remove the license plates, make sure you do! You won’t be able to cancel your car insurance until you have either transferred the plates to another car or returned them to the Department of Motor Vehicles. You won’t be able to do either if you leave them on the car! Make sure you keep all the correspondence between you and the charity. If you don’t, when you go to do your taxes, you’ll find yourself calling around to the various charities to find out which one you donated your car to.

Living on a budget is the key to financial freedom, but getting started can be frustrating. When we look at our expenses and see all of those bills we’re paying every month, it’s easy to throw our hands up in disgust. But what about all those little expenses we incur? You might be surprised to find out just how much they amount to.

It’s easy to dismiss cutting back on little things. A few dollars a month won’t make a significant difference in the big picture. But a few dollars here and a few dollars there adds up to a few more dollars. When you cut back in a lot of small ways, you could end up with a lot more money at the end of the month.

Waste Not, Want Not

One thing we can do that is good for the budget is stop wasting so much. This can apply to many areas in our lives. From eating to home heating, waste equals money going down the drain unnecessarily.

Cooking for the family instead of eating takeout or dining out is a great way to save money. But if you’re throwing food out, the benefit is reduced. So if you have leftovers, don’t let them end up in the trash. Some dishes freeze well, and this makes for easy dinners when you don’t have time to cook. You could also eat dinner leftovers for lunch the following day.

If your home is not well insulated, you’re probably wasting lots of money on home heating and cooling. Insulating will cost some money up front, but it will pay for itself quickly. If you have drafts around windows and doors, weatherstripping can help maintain the temperature of your home.

Most households waste an unbelievable amount of electricity. This can be prevented in part by using energy efficient appliances and light bulbs. Turn lights, televisions, computers and other devices off when you’re not using them, and open blinds to take advantage of the sun’s light during the day.

Do Yourself a Favor: Do It Yourself

Any time you pay someone else to do something that you could do yourself, you’re spending money unnecessarily. This applies to little things like buying coffee instead of making your own, as well as to larger expenses such as home repairs.

Many of us buy coffee or a soft drink from a convenience store or coffee shop on the way to work in the morning. This can really add up over time. Instead, make your own coffee, or buy soda in 2-liter bottles and pour some into a smaller bottle or cup to take with you. The same applies to lunches. Instead of springing for fast food, take a sandwich or something microwavable to work.

While we’re not all good at all types of repairs and maintenance, most of us can do some things for ourselves. Maybe you could change your own oil instead of paying someone else to do it. If the walls need painting, consider getting friends and family to help you do it instead of hiring a painter. Things like these can save us a noticeable amount of money right away.

When you add up the savings, little things can make a big difference to the budget. So take a close look at your budget and see what small expenses are lurking there. If you can eliminate or reduce them, it could positively impact your bottom line.
