Cranium Whoonu

February 1, 2008 by Mom Mag · Leave a Comment

This is a game designed for ages 8+ and for 3-6 players. This game is a very simple guessing game. The players pick a person to be the “Whoozit” and the remaining players are dealt 4 cards each. Each card has either a thing or activity listed such as “the scenic route” or “pick up trucks”. The object of this game is for the players to pick out one thing from their hand that they think the Whoozit will like the most and then place it in the Whoozit envelope. The card amount varies dependant on how many players are playing. The Whoozit then looks through the Whoozit envelope and chooses the card that they will place in front of the matching token in order from 1-being the least up to 6-being the most. After the Whoozit finishes, they read the cards and hand out the appropriate token to the person who chose that card. Points are kept by the numbers on the tokens. Play is over once all the tokens are gone. The person with the most points win. Read more

Goo Gone All Purpose Remover

GG89 1OZ GOO GONE 32212235

Goo Gone is a wonderful product. This product is made to take care of those things that nothing else will get rid of. It removes paint, crayon, glue, grease, tape or anything that is sticky or gummy. It isn’t greasy so it doesn’t leave a greasy residue on anything you spray it on. It even removes permanent laundry marker.

You can buy this product in a spray bottle or in a regular squirt type bottle.

It also has the orange citrus smell that everyone is into these days. This product is a must for anyone who has children or a hard working husband in their household. I use it all the time.

It only takes a single spray, wait a couple of minutes and wipe clean. It is also very inexpensive. I have even used this to remove old hairspray off the bathroom walls and sinks. It works in the laundry too. I use it to remove all the gummy yuck my husband the plumber/pipe fitter gets on him everyday and he uses it to remove all that yuck from his hands at the end of each day. This product is a must for every household.

What’s The Cost: Prices vary.

Cons: The only thing I have found that it will not remove is super glue and I’m not sure there is a product out there that can.

Mean Green Cleaner

November 19, 2007 by Mom Mag · Leave a Comment

Mean Green is a cleaning product that every household should have. It works on grease, lime, rust, stains just about anything. I use it in the house, in the laundry, on carpets, on the car, truck, boat, trailer, outdoor furniture and even on the grill.

This is a product that every wife, mother or anyone who has a male living in the house needs to have. Just spray it on and wipe it off. It even works on stubborn smoke that clings to your walls, furniture, curtains and clothes.

It is also very inexpensive. I bought the spray bottle to start for $3.00 but after using it the first time I bought the 5 gallon refill for $6.00 and it lasts forever.

You can use it full strength for those hard jobs or diluted for the smaller jobs. I put a ½ cup in the laundry to clean work clothes, etc. or a full cup in the carpet shampooer to clean those tracked in areas on your carpet. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Cons:One minute problem - some players prefer not to wear the earrings (usually the children due to a comfort issue with the clip-ons). However, the earrings can be placed in front of the player or clipped onto his/her necklace.

What’s The Cost: Prices vary.

Pros:
If you are searching for a terrific, comfortable, quality nursing bra, Bravado Bras are your answer. These bras allow you to breath and allow for the changing size of your breast from morning through night without losing there shape. With there racer back style and wide elastic rib-band you are always comfortable. They recently created a more traditional style bra in micro-fiber fabric to remedy the problem of no lift! This bra is ultra comfy and attractive. It also comes in a wardrobe flattering colors. You will not regret buying this bra.

Cons: The stretchy fabric is great, but doesn’t always offer that lift we want for our breast! I would probably create this bra in a little heavier of a fabric for all of the sizes not just the bigger sizes. I would also offer a design with lace for those women who still want a pretty bra.

Pretty Princess Dress-Up Board Game by Hasbro

October 4, 2007 by Mom Mag · 1 Comment

The object of this game is to be the first player to collect and wear all your matching colored jewelry and the crown. Once you have collected all your pieces with the crown, you are the Pretty Pretty Princess.

What’s The Cost: $5.00

Pros:
This game is so simple . . . children do not have to be able to read to play. Although, if you have a child who likes to stick small objects in his/her mouth, you may want to wait until he/she is a bit older (small pieces). You may notice I referred to boys as well . . . this is the ONLY
game I know of that you can get a grown man to wear costume jewelry. This is what makes this game so much fun. We have owned this game for a little over a year now. I have watched my 6 year old daughter play this game with her dad, her 8 year old brother, and her 68 year old grandfather. I never once heard any of the “boys” complain about having to adorn the beautiful
jewelry. I have, however, heard groans when they didn’t become the Pretty Pretty Princess. So, grab your daughters, sons, and a few good men for a good time, plenty of laughs, and photo ops. And, my daughter is not the only one who requests to play this game. Enough said.

Here is how the game is played . . . You place your colored marker anywhere on the board to start. The youngest player gets to go first, of course. When it is your turn, you spin the spinner and move your marker that number of spaces on the board. The spaces on the board are marked with pictures of the various pieces of jewelry. Whatever you land on is the piece you
collect (in your color) and wear. The plastic play jewelry includes rings, clip-on earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. I think the hardest pieces to acquire are the earrings, because you are only allowed to take one at a time. So, remember this when you land on a space that says you may choose any piece you want.

Sounds easy enough, right? Well, watch out for that black ring! For even if you have collected all your pieces and the crown, you cannot win the game until you have rid yourself of the dreaded black ring. This can only be done if someone else lands on the black ring space or if you land on the space that tells you to put one piece back.

The playing pieces, jewelry, and crown are easily stored in a round jewelry box that is placed in the middle of the playing board (a 4-piece puzzle assembled). The lid of the jewelry box has a mirror on the outside and a spinner on the inside. So, once your royal highness is crowned the winner, he/she may flip the spinner over to gaze at his/her magnificence in the mirror. We often continue play to see who will be the “lady-in-waiting”.

This game was well thought out by its creators. It is easy to set up, progresses quickly, and promotes well-being through healthy laughter.

Oops . . . I almost forgot. Don’t think you are safe once you have attained the crown. Your fierce opponents have the right to seize the crown from your head during play unless you have already been proclaimed the winner.

Cons:One minute problem - some players prefer not to wear the earrings (usually the children due to a comfort issue with the clip-ons). However, the earrings can be placed in front of the player or clipped onto his/her necklace.

Maternity Card

May 18, 2007 by Mom Mag · 11 Comments

The purpose of the Maternity Card is to help defray the expenses of having a baby.

What’s The Cost: Not Available. Prices are quoted when an application is made.

Pros:
Those who are eligible for the Maternity Card are women who may become pregnant as well as those who are already pregnant.

For those who have no maternity insurance at all, the Maternity Card pays for Doctor Visits, Hospital Stays, Lab Work, Sonograms, 24 Hour Counseling, 24 Hour Nurse Hotline, Anesthesiologist, Pre Natal Vitamins, Newborn Tests and checkups, Immunizations and Prescription Drugs. The Maternity Card automatically expands to include the newborn infant.

Companies, even large International companies, sometimes exclude maternity coverage in their insurance benefits packages. Women need to check with their employers or their spouse’s employers to find out if they do, in fact, have maternity coverage. For those who already have maternity coverage that coverage will be the best option for them.

Cons: The Maternity Card only pays doctors and hospitals that are in their ‘network.’ The guarantee only provides that consumers will ‘break even’. For those who have maternity coverage through their hospitalization coverage, the Maternity Card will not be of value.

Guarantee: The Maternity Card by Affordable Healthcare Options (AHCO) guarantees that those who enroll will save more in a twelve month period than the cost of membership in the plan, or they will refund the difference plus $200.

The Value : Since there is no way of determining what the cost of Maternity Card will be for each individual, there is no way to determine what the value of it is. However, with the excellent guarantee, a person will at the least break even.

Where to buy: Maternity Insurance Card
