This movie is about a couple on the brink of divorce. The husband, played by Kirk Cameron, is insensitive and self-absorbed. He is a hero in his work as a fireman, but not a very pleasant man to come home to.

The wife, played by Erin Bethea, is heartbroken and wants to end their marriage. She then begins to form a relationship with a flirtatious doctor at work, which only complicates things of course.

Cameron’s movie father tells his son to give it 40 days and hands him a book on how to save his marriage. By doing little thoughtful things each day for your partner you will strengthen your marriage. This book has a day-by-day, to-do list of meaningful and loving gestures that is giving of yourself to your partner.

During this time a very confused Cameron accepts Christ into his life. At first these things do not impress Catherine (Bethea). Eventually after realizing that her husband is changing she turns around. The ending is remarkable with Catherine coming to her husband and telling him what he means to her. She also, impressed with his change, questions him and he tells her about Christ.

Played for years in my own house and given as a gift to other children, this game was a favorite in the game closet. Reasonably priced through this seller below, grabbing one up would be a wise decision before it becomes a collectible.

The Allowance Game was for 2 to 4 players between the ages of 5 to 12 years old. For something to do on that perfect afternoon on your front porch, on a rainy day or when you are shut in due to a big snowstorm, this is the perfect selection for curing boredom. Your kid’s interest will be piqued as they giggle with delight while playing The Allowance Game.

Besides the Lego building blocks, Lego made a wonderful game known as Lego Creator:  The Race to Build It Board Game. This item has become a collectible in its own right. This game is great for the whole family. Designed for ages 10 and up, younger kids can play with a little bit of help along the way. This game involves moving around the board and collecting pieces of your racer. Whoever gets theirs finished first, of course, wins the game. Not only did we have it in our house, I purchased it for some well-loved children along the way.

My oldest son is a big fan of Legos and although I’m not sure of the exact count of pieces he has now, I do know it is easily over one thousand parts. From Star Wars to Indiana Jones, if Lego makes them, he probably has the set. I’m surprised that we’re not finding them in our cereal in the morning.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely think they’re an awesome toy and he really enjoys creating new things with them, but what I don’t like is finding them all over the house. He’s usually pretty good about keeping tabs on them, but when he does play with them he ends up dumping them all over the table or floor to find just the right piece – and from there it’s almost as if they multiply and grow legs at the same time and make their happy way under my furniture, on my countertops or inside clothes, which then ends up in my washer.

We’ve been trying to figure out the best way to store his Legos so it’s easy for him to grab different pieces without having to dump out a huge box of them. Well, I just found a solution that I think is ingenious and he loves it as well.

It’s called Box4Blox, a sorting storage solution made just for Legos. This 10 1/4 inch cube that’s made in the U.S.A and invented by Peter and Moira Botherway from New Zealand, has four plastic trays that stack on top of each other, but the really cool thing is that inside each tray is a grid of various sizes.

How the Box4Blox Works
Simply stack the four plastic trays on top of each other, starting with smallest grid working your way to the largest.

Load the assorted Lego pieces into the top tray. Shake the box gently while loading and all the blocks are automatically graded into a tray with blocks their own size.

Unstack the Box4Blox trays, starting from the top giving each tray a stir with your hand as you go. All the large blocks and base plates will be in the top tray, medium to large blocks in the next tray, the small to medium blocks in the tray below that and then those tiny blocks are in the bottom tray.

When it’s time to put the Legos away, simply tilt the assembled Box4Blox to expose the grids and place the Legos into the top tray over the exposed grids.

My son, myself and my vacuum thank Moira and Peter for creating Box4Blox. A great solution to our previous problem. Now I just need to find all of those blocks that strayed prior to Box4Blox – have an invention for that? LOL

Jack discovers a door in a tree and it introduces him to Christmas town. He quickly becomes enamored with this holiday, and hears about the legend of Santa Claus. Once he discovers this, he decides to inform his friends in Halloween town about what he has just seen. The townspeople want to make Halloween even scarier for the next year, but Jack tries to find a deeper meaning in the holiday. The story transforms into a fascinating tale about giving and sharing, and while the main message is good, there are elements to The Nightmare Before Christmas that might be a bit too much for younger children.

Some of the characters have a very dark and macabre look to them, and there are lots of spooky creatures, which can frighten small children. In addition, the main female character Sally is sometimes mistreated by her  “master “, which can be a little unsettling, but there is nothing there that is too over the top. There is also a scene where the Oogie Boogie Man kidnaps and tries to attack Santa Claus, and this can also upset some kids. Overall though, the movie is a fun musical with stunning visuals, and good core message that everyone will take with them when it ends.

Baby Piggy Bank – Who doesn’t love a cute little piggy bank? Once I got over the attractive packaging, I opened this little white piggy bank which measures 3.25”L x 2.5”W x 2.5” H and was pleasantly surprised by something that I haven’t seen on other ceramic piggy banks that my children have received – little rubber bottoms on each of its tiny little feet. This means that this littly piggy won’t be scratching the surfaces of my furniture like the other piggy’s in my home do. It’s a small little thing , but big in my mind.

Let me get back to the awesome packaging. I’m posting a picture, but as you can see it comes in a clear gift box with a tied polka dot ribbon that can be used for any gender or other occasions outside of a baby shower, such as a child’s birthday party, etc.

Next came, my favorite, the Baby Bath Confetti Favors. Oh, this smelled so good and again I simply adored the packaging. I received the blue accented favor which, as you’ll see from the photo, contains white and blue star soap flakes. Take a closer look at the photo and notice this tiny little blue pacifier charm that’s tied around the polka-dotted ribbon – how cute is that?

This bath favor is in a 2″ diameter and 1″ high white tin, so once the soap flakes are gone the little tin can be used to hold various little items around the house. I’m using it to hold some of my thumb tacks.

Do you like cupcakes? I know I do and the Gourmet Cupcake Baking Mix, in chocolate, was just what I needed since I was having a chocolate craving. This mix is exclusive to Beau-coup and is great to give as a favor or to whip up a batch of cupcakes for a birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower, etc.
