The Final Step

Revelation: 21:1-4

Thought For Today: Rev. 21:4 “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more pain, death or mourning or crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away”.

My grandmother had dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. During her illness – it was heartbreaking to watch my grandmother – who had kneeled beside her bed every night and prayed – become a stranger who may or may not remember anything. Many times – I prayed and asked the Lord Why? Why? – Does she have to suffer? But, in my heart – I knew the Lord was in control. One afternoon the Lord sent his angels to carry my grandmother home. She just went to sleep and will awake in the arms of Jesus. She has completed her journey.

Someday, we will complete our journey as my grandmother has. It will be so wonderful to go to a place where there is no sorrow or pain. God promises eternal life for those who believe. Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior?

Prayer: Dear Jesus – Please help me through this difficult time and guide my steps. I am asking for comfort and peace. In Jesus name – I pray! Amen!
