Hot Cocoa Bath
Posted on 27. Feb, 2006 by Toni Kelley in Your Home
I felt I just had to share this story with you. One of my most favorite things to do on a cold winter’s day or night is to cuddle under a blanket with a steamy cup of hot chocolate. I even own specific mugs just for these occasions. Knowing this, my girlfriend, who is a mother of triplet boys, came to visit for our monthly mommy getaway.
Handing me a beautiful jar, she said” I know how much you love hot cocoa, so I thought you might like to take a bath in it.” A little shocked, and puzzled, she proceeded to tell me about this wonderful recipe for a Hot Cocoa Bath. It soothes and softens your skin, while at the same time indulging your chocolate need without the calories. I tried it that night and decided that all the busy stressed out moms had to be let in on this secret.
Here is what you will need.
1. 1 C. instant dry low fat milk
2. 1 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
3. 1 C. baking soda
4. 2 TBLS. Cornstarch
5. 2 TBLS. Cream of tartar
6. 2 TBLS. Ground cinnamon
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients together, place in a jar with a lid. It should last for about 6 months. You can also give this as a gift, and decorate the jar. Great for Christmas, or Mother’s Day, or just because.
Bath Time
Heat 3 tablespoons of the Cocoa bath mixture with ½ C. water, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan. Bring this mixture to a boil, and then add it to your bath water, as the tub is filling. Get in and enjoy.
I truly recommend giving this a try. It melts away the cold winter blues.
