Medela Pump in Style Original Breast Pump
August 7, 2007
The Medela Pump in Style Original Breast Pump is a hospital-grade double electric breast pump with electrical cord and battery pack.
What’s The Cost: $249.95
Great electric pump. Much better than hand held ones! Quite a bit faster. Lets you adjust the suction level and speed for maximum comfort. Does well at expressing all of your milk in not a lot of time. Is an expensive item. Buy only if you are going to use it. If you plan to be away from your baby frequently, definitely spend the extra money on this pump verses a handheld! The battery pack also makes it convenient to travel with if needed. You can even pump in the car on long car rides! The only problem I have had with mine is that I sometimes have to adjust the front piece to get suction. I bought this item used though so I have no idea of its history.

There is some misinformation in your review. The Medela Pump In Style is NOT a hospital grade pump. Hospital grade pumps are designed for vigorous pumping (4-5 times a day every day). The Medela Pump In Style is meant for Exclusively Breastfeeding Moms who need to pump once or twice a day. It is classified as a Personal Use Pump.
Hospital Grade pumps, like the Lactina or Symphony are for moms, who like me, decided to exclusively pump and needs to pump 5 or more times a day. Hospital Grade pumps can usually be rented but to buuy them you would pay more than the cost of the PIS.
