Choices
February 27, 2006
Many years ago a friend wanted to go to a party in a nearby town. Her parents trusted her and told her not to go to a certain town and road. My friend agreed. I chose to stay home. I made a wise choice because late that night her parents received a call that a wreck had occurred. Of course the wreck was at a location that her parents had specifically told her to stay away from. She had met a boy and he was in the car at the time of the wreck. There were no serious injuries. The boy’s parents were very understanding and believed he had learned a lesson from this experience.
Just as my friend did not make a good choice about friends and places to go – the bible teaches that bad company corrupts good character. Christians must live in this world - but they must live a holy life that is pleasing to the Lord. Everyday we make choices and it is important that the choices that are made glorify God. Are the choices you are making glorifying God?
I Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.”
