Get to Know Me

July 9, 2008 by The Mommy Circle · 1 Comment

Tricia over at Dragon Fly Dreams (one of my daily reads) tagged me and said she didn’t think I’d respond. Well, I have to teach her a lesson to never underestimate me LOL (just kidding Tricia)  Ok so here it is:

Favorite person (outside family)?

Tricia. She keeps me sane and never lets me quit.  She is my morale booster and my shoulder to cry on.

Favorite food?

Mexican, those fattening tortillas - yummy.

Quirks about you?

I’m a fast very soft talker. I have low self-esteem but working on it.

How would the person who loves you most describe you in ten words or less?

strong, loving, a great mom, best friend, understanding, patient, hardworking

Any regrets in life?

That I left something I believe in with all my heart because I allowed a human to upset me.

Favorite Charity/Cause?

Autism awareness and breast cancer awareness because they both have affected my family.

Favorite Blog recently?

Casual Friday Everyday I can relate to so many of the topics Nell discusses.

Something you can’t get enough of?

My family and quality time with them.

Worst job you’ve ever had?

None.  I’ve always enjoyed the jobs I had that’s why I stayed with them for so long.

What job would you pay NOT to have?

Anything that stinks or has anything to do with gross stuff.  You’ couldn’t get me to do Mike Rowe’s Dirty Jobs. LOL

If you could be a fly on the wall, where?

I wouldn’t want to be a fly someone might decide I need to be squished. Besides, flies land on gross things.

Favorite Bible verse right now?

1 Corinthians 13:4, 7-8

Love is long-suffering and kind.  It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all tings, endures all things.  Love never fails.

Guilty Pleasure?

Taking time for me.

Got any confessions?

Nope.

If you HAD to spend $1,000 on YOURSELF, how would you spend it?

SHOES, clothing and some new toys for my digital camera like a zoom lens.

It’s not an apartment.

Least favorite thing about your house?

Trying to maintain the yard/grass.  Too much to water.

One thing you are bad at?

Being outgoing and confident.

One thing you’re good at?

Being a wife and mom.

If you could change something about your circumstances, what?

I would have become a VA sooner (PremiumVA) so I could help out more with family finances.

Who would you like to meet someday? Living or dead?

Elvis - I have admired and loved him since I was a little girl.

What makes you feel sexy?

3 things - high heels, a short shirt and my hubby (not necessarily in that order)

Who is your real life hero?

My Dad whose strength made me who I am today and my son, Nathan whose strength makes me who I will be tomorrow.

What is the hardest part of your job?

Having to take the bull by the horns and be the one to go out and say Hey I can do that for you!

When are you most relaxed?

When I am back home in the Rio Grande Valley.

What stresses you out?

Lack of money.

What can you not live without?

My family - kids, hubby, mom and dad.

Do you agree or disagree with the recent article that reported that blogs are authored by narcissists?

No, not at all.  Writing is a form of expression and journaling our lives sometimes makes situations clearer for us so I feel it’s more of a type of self-therapy than self involvement or self-love.  Not all blogs are about ourselves.

Why do you blog?

I blog cause it let’s me share little things in my life that make me smile with others.

Okay - rules:
1. Answer the questions
2. Link back to whoever tagged you
3. Tag eight bloggers to do the same, 2 from each category.
• New/newer bloggers – I really don’t know any new bloggers at the moment.

• Bloggy friends —  Jen @ One Moms World and Cara @ TheHouseholdHelper

• Bloggers you’d like to get to know better – Jen @ AutomaticMoms.com and Carrie @ Blah, Blah, Blog

• Bloggers you don’t think will respond, but you hope will — Nell @ Casual Friday Everyday

Start Your Own Blog - Here’s How

July 1, 2008 by The Mommy Circle · Leave a Comment

Perhaps you’ve considered starting a blog, either for personal or business purposes but don’t know anything about blogging, well, I’ll tell you this ecourse, Blogging Starter Pack, really helped me a lot.

Plain English Please!  I’m not a tech person at all so I need things explained to me in plain English. This is one of the reasons I recommend you check out this course if you are looking to start blogging. Lynette Chandler of TechBased Marketing.com tells you and shows you with video exactly how to set up your blog and get started blogging in easy to understand terms.

Each section of the course will walk you step by step through the steps you need to take to start a blog, all the way up to and through promoting it so you can make money from it. The course will walk you through both Blogger and Word Press set up.

These are just a few of the areas Lynette covers in her course:

  • The basics of blogging
  • How to set up your blog in either Blogger or WordPress
  • How to start blogging
  • Ways to promte your blog
  • Using the Feed Burner
  • Pinging - what it is & how it works to promote your blog
  • Advanced Blogging that brings in more traffic
  • Explaination of such terms as trackback, pingback and tagging - remote commenting, how it adds content to your blog

Lynette gets into adding RSS Feeds (which I was so proud of myself for doing along with the video), how to promote your blog, especially if you want to earn money from it. How to get the most out of your blog with the use of directories and so much more.

Defenitely take a look at it, I’m sure you will be as impressed as I was and surprised at how even someone as non-technical as I am could understand it easily. If you would like to learn more about the course, what others are saying about it and what Lynette has to offer just click on Blogger Starter Pack! It’s an investment in your business and well worth it if you ask me. It doesn’t end once you get through the course, she offers so much more after that. You get continued support and information.

I’d had a blog up for several months but never got any comments or anyone looking at it but after this course, not only has it been index by the search engines in less than an hour I have been getting comments so I know it’s being viewed now. I’m so happy I found this course, I feel so much more confident in my blogging now.  So check it out and see how easy blogging can be:  Blogging Starter Pack
