Well Done
February 27, 2006
I was a day care provider for over twenty years. In the twenty years – I would like to believe that I touched children’s lives and gave them positive childhood memories. Some of the children I took to church with me and sponsored them for church camp. After, they left my care – I usually never heard from them again. I often wondered how they turned out.
One day two young men showed up at my door. I have a Christian thrift store and thought they were interested in purchasing an item. So, I asked: “May I help you?” The older one asked: “Don’t you remember me? I came to day care here.” I looked at him – but I didn’t recognize him. I know he was hurt – but I finally had to say: “You are going to have to tell me your name”. So, he told me his name and his brother’s name. Immediately, I knew who he was. It was such a blessing to know they had turned out to be well mannered young men. They were very clean cut teenagers.
Everyday, we touch people’s lives – someday the Lord will return and he will say: “Well done good and faithful servant”. Are you making a difference in people’s lives that will make a difference in eternity?
Scripture reading: Matthew 25:31-46
Thought For Today: Matthew 25:40 “The king will reply, I tell you the truth whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine you did for me.”
